3 DAY MEN’S SUMMER WILDERNESS ENCOUNTER

Join me for a long weekend (All day Friday, Saturday, and most of Sunday) in a wilderness back-packing setting in the Mountains of Western North Carolina.

Take three days to unwind, explore, and to spend one of the two nights at a solo campsite near our base camp.   For one night, experience the wilderness by yourself, to discover more about your inner Self, your life’s direction, and to gain clarity about questions you may be currently facing in your life.

Friday afternoon will be spent together setting up the base camp, sitting around the fire, learning to prepare food in the wilderness, and getting to know each other. Saturday enjoy berry picking, hiking and time to explore and set up your own solo camp. We will be talking about the” ancients” use of vision quests and rituals that enhance clarity and direction.

Saturday evening is spent alone fasting, building your own fire, and spending time under the stars to experience more deeply the beauty of the Great Mystery and to make contact with your own inner Knowing.

Sunday morning we reconvene at base camp for a hearty breakfast and sharing of our experiences (for those that want to share).

Dates: May 15th - 17th, 2009

Times: Departing 9:30 Friday morning and returning Sunday afternoon.

Departure: We will all depart and return to and from the same location (Frank’s house)

Food: Provided for, except special interest foods you may want or special dietary needs.

Cooking:  NOT, I REPEAT, NOT PROVIDED!!!!  Except Sunday morning when we will be cooking and cleaning together. This is meant to be part of the experience.

Cost: $250.00

Equipment: You must provide your camping gear, backpacker’s folding chair, back packer’s air mattress, sleeping gear, rain gear, water and tent and carry it in. You may rent it.

The hike in will be up to 4 miles, so do not bring bulky, heavy items not meant for backpacking. Properly packed, your pack should not weigh over about 35-40 pounds. Rental gear is available at local outfitters. If you cannot acquire a piece of equipment, ask me as I have some extra equipment (be sure to ask in advance!)
